Energy
Rigs and renewables pepper the Cromarty Firth and North Sea. They are a striking feature in the Highland landscape and central to local communities. The fossil fuel sector and the race for the renewables may caste these iconic structures into the history books in the not too distant future. I am drawn to the energy sector not only politically but aesthetically too. One cannot fail to be impressed by the vast scale, stature and colour of these immense structures close up. At dusk, and particularly in winter, the reflections of lights on the water are a welcome shot of colour and form that I am drawn back to again and again.
