Bark

I am slightly obsessed with the texture and patterning of bark, especially birch. In the low light of winter, when the detail of landscape can be less inspiring, tree barks are a reliable and never ending source of inspiration. The ageing patterns of birch can appear not unlike ageing human skin and flaking lead paint - this will hopefully help to explain some of the more cryptic titles for these artworks.
